Built for filmmakers: clean Log image for grading, exposure tools like on cinema cameras and a pipeline that never touches your clip unless you ask it to. And the backup is encrypted before it leaves the phone.
The preview, exposure tools and LUTs run per-pixel on the GPU — the recorded file stays exactly what the sensor captured.
ISO, shutter shown as speed or angle, white balance with tint, focus and zoom — each on a dedicated slider with instant Auto. Tap-to-focus, flicker-free 50/60 Hz shutter and white balance lock on record.
Shoot flat in 10-bit Apple Log for maximum grading latitude, in ProRes 422 (HQ/LT/Proxy), HEVC or H.264, up to 4K. The YCbCr pipeline stays 10-bit from sensor to file.
8 built-in looks including the Log → Rec.709 conversion, plus .cube LUT import from DaVinci Resolve. Monitor-only by default — the clip stays clean — or baked permanently into the file, your choice.
Focus peaking in 5 colors, zebras with adjustable level and intensity, false color on IRE bands, histogram, waveform and RGB parade — rendered per-pixel on the GPU, never touching the recording.
USB-C audio interfaces (RØDE, Zoom, MOTU), Bluetooth microphones, built-in mic pickup selection, hardware gain and AAC or uncompressed 24-bit PCM recording, mono or stereo.
Pick a folder on a USB-C SSD and clips are written straight to it. If the drive disappears, the app falls back to internal storage automatically, without dropping frames.
Every account gets 1 GB for free. Clips are encrypted end-to-end on the phone before upload — Blackbone servers store ciphertext only, on our own infrastructure.
The entire camera configuration saves automatically and can be bundled into named presets — applied with one tap, exported as a file and imported on another phone.
Composition guides (thirds, golden ratio), aspect masks 1.85:1, 2.39:1, 9:16 with adjustable opacity and color, plus 1.33x–2x anamorphic desqueeze for external lenses.
Volume + starts and stops recording; held down, volume − turns the buttons into a zoom rocker with smooth ramping that never interrupts the take. Haptic feedback on every action.
Live timecode, stereo audio meters in dBFS, remaining space on the active destination, battery indicator and format status — all in a heads-up display that survives rotation.

You create the account right inside the camera and the backup space is live instantly — hosted on Blackbone infrastructure, not third parties. The encryption key never leaves your phone, so nobody but you can see the clips. Not even us.
