This Privacy Policy explains how Blackbone SRL ("Blackbone", "we", "us"), a company registered in Romania, processes information in connection with Blackbone Social (the "Service"), the social network available at social.blackbone.ro. Blackbone SRL is the data controller under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). Written in plain language, because that's the point.
1. What we collect
- Your email, username and password (stored as a salted hash — we cannot read it).
- What you post, like, repost, bookmark, and who you follow, block or mute.
- Direct messages you send (stored so they can be delivered; not end-to-end encrypted).
- Basic technical data for sessions: browser user-agent and session expiry.
- Push notification subscription, if you enable browser notifications.
2. What we deliberately do NOT do
- No advertising, no ad profiles, no selling or sharing your data with data brokers.
- No third-party trackers or analytics scripts on the site.
- Images you upload are re-encoded and stripped of all metadata, including GPS location.
- No engagement algorithm profiling what keeps you hooked.
3. Legal bases (GDPR)
- Providing the Service (your account, posts, messages) — performance of a contract.
- Security and abuse prevention — legitimate interest.
- Push notifications — consent, revocable at any time.
4. Public vs private
Posts, your profile, follows and public interactions are visible to others by design. Direct messages are private between participants but are not end-to-end encrypted, so we can technically access them to operate and moderate the Service. For end-to-end encrypted messaging, use Blackbone Messenger.
5. Deletion
You can delete individual posts at any time, and delete your whole account from Settings. Account deletion removes your profile and posts from the platform, except where retention is required by law.
6. Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with the Romanian supervisory authority (ANSPDCP) or your local authority.
